UFC 89 Predictions

The UFC card is TONIGHT, live from Birmingham, England. So I thought I'd have some fun and give out my predictions.

Michael Bisping Vs Chris Leben
Bisping is 2-0 since moving to Light-Heavyweight and Chris Leben now stands in his way. Bisping has looked excellent in his last few fights, and he's come a long way since his UFC bouts with Matt Hammil and Elvis Sinosic. Chris Leben though, is always that guy that's been in the background. He's been a staple in Ultimate Fight Night and now this is his chance to pull away from all that and establish himself as a serious threat. If these guys were to fight 10 times, I would say Bisping wins 7 of those 10 fights. But something in my gut tells me that Leben is going to come out hungry. There is no denying Leben's heart and I just hope he doesn't come out there swinging wildly. Though Bisping is the better of the two figthers, Leben is going to upset Bisping and overwhelm him in the 2nd round.
WINNER: CHRIS LEBEN with a shocking 2nd round ref stoppage.

Brandon "The Truth" Vera Vs Keith "The Dean of Mean" Jardine
Brandon Vera has not done SHIT since he came back to the UFC after re-negotiating his contract. He had that boring fight with Tim Sylvia, and then Werdum overwhelmed him in their encounter at Heavyweight to convince him to drop down to Light-Heavyweight. He's beaten Reese and that's about it. Keith Jardine is coming off a mauling to the Axe Murderer and he's looking to make a comeback. The thing with Jardine is that he has never impressed me. Yes he beat Forrest Griffin. Then he got killed by Houston Alexander. Then he beats Chuck Liddell. Then he gets killed by Wanderlei Silva. Keith Jardine needs a solid win here, CHECK THAT: They BOTH need a solid win to move a step forward and be taken seriously. The "Truth" about Brandon Vera is that he hasn't done SHIT. Keith Jardine has not done anything since he beat Chuck Liddell. This match should be fast, explosive, and probably not get past the 1st round. Though Jardine will come out swinging, I think Vera has a lot more to prove here and he needs a DECISIVE win.
